SAP calls them “productized” because they go through the full lifecycle of a software product and thus become part of SAP standard: They are designed, developed, tested, delivered and maintained by experts at SAP — and, in the case of 3rd party integrations, in collaboration with the experts of SAP partners.

Productized integrations built by SAP are simple to implement, are less likely to break during software updates and inexpensive to maintain. In the event of disruption or failure of a productized integration, SAP takes on the responsibility of addressing the problems.

Productized integrations will save customers about 80 percent of the cost of building and maintaining integrations compared to custom building them
