Understanding SAP SuccessFactors Licensing and Pricing

Customers have more than 45 options to choose from SAP SuccessFactors product license packages. The purpose of this article is to walk you through SAP SuccessFactors licensing model and how the products are categorized based on type of use, additional options, and bundle packages.

Types of Use

  1. Standard Use: Users are individuals authorized to access the Cloud Service. Users are measured as individuals with an active profile in the Cloud Service and whose data is processed in the Cloud Service. For clarification, a single User with multiple contracts or roles such as concurrent employment or global assignments shall be counted as one User.
  2. Functional Use: The functional use license is available for individuals who have limited or no access to SAP SuccessFactors but whose data is somehow managed within the solution. Categories of individuals Include but not limited to
  • Non-employee (includes contingent/contractors);
  • Former employees who retain active usage rights (retirees, terminated employees who are still granted system access);
  • Individuals with a limited or temporary employee relationship during the course of a year or 12-month period

Additional Options

  1. Integration: Hana Cloud Integration (HCI) or Dell BOOMI cloud integration platform-as-a-service is a middle ware that helps Integrating SuccessFactors with mission-critical systems not only in your organization but also with third party vendors
  2. Test Tenant: This provides an extra test tenant in the preview and production environment for all cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors solutions, excluding the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solutions.
  3. Bundle Packages: As the name suggests, bundle packages are products with more than 1 SAP SuccessFactors product bundled together. Following bundle packages are available for customers
  • Enterprise Basic Package, and Enterprise Package
  • Talent Management Package
  • Advanced Learning Package
  • Perform and Rewards Package
    •  

Example:

Considering Employee Central as an example, It is important to understand that the packages are different from each other and their pricing is different as well. Example: Employee Central, Employee Central with Boomi/HCI, Employee Central Functional Use, Employee Central Functional Use with Boomi/HCI.

Pricing

Depending on the type of product, you either subscribe for one year term or pay flat fee. All standard SAP SuccessFactors solutions are available with 9 different pricing tiers based on number of users with one year term subscription(1-2k, 2K-5K, 5K-10K, 10K-15K, 15K-25K, 25K-50K, 50K-75K, 75K-100K, >100K). Flat fee applies to products like Test Tenant, Data Center Migration, and Content Band Width Add-on etc.
